Best of the best

I was reading a blog by Seth Godin and he was saying how things that were over the top now aren’t because the bar is constantly being raised. I think that can often be the same for youth ministry. We can’t be the most outrageous activity and we can’t do the most over the top. We can try and we will have some really amazing events and activities but when all is said and done thats not why youth come and more importantly not why they will come back. They will come back because they meet God. They will come back because they are shown love. They will come back because they have been griped by the unconditional grace that we as leaders chose to show them. That should be comforting to think about. It means how crazy or new our activity is is not important. What is important is our heart and how willing we are to give all of ourselves and show God, His love and His grace through our actions. How willing we are to be a servant to God’s will. Hmmm…maybe it would be easier to try and be the most over the top but when has that ever changed a life?
